Ben started school full time this semester and he is also working full time. He has his hands full! His job is not the best so he is casually looking for another one, so if you have any connections let us know! He seems to be enjoying school for the most part. I think he loves the classes but hates the homework but who wouldn't?!
We've started a little habit lately :) we go to the gym together at night. Usually after 8 pm. Let me tell you, I HATE going to the gym. I don't know why either. It's not like I had a horrible experience or hurt myself at the gym, I just don't like going. And I don't particularly like people looking at me while I work out and some people there are just posers! Anyways, this is why I like going with Ben. He really enjoys the gym. And after my subornedness and trying to convince me many times; I have finally started going. When my work moved offices across town I thought about switching to another gym that was down the street. I finally decided not to switch. I like going with Ben, I think we have started to motivate each other in that way :) maybe he motivates me more ;) waaa??
I made a lot of goals this New Years. I have a lot I feel I need to work on and what a better time to start over fresh! We made personal goals and then we made goals as a family. One of our goals as a family was to save up a lot of money! We want to put 20% of our income into savings that we just don't touch. I might have been slipping a little bit more here and there but shhh! don't tell my husband! To help implement our goal financially and help us be more healthy we have decided to not eat out! Some of us have been doing better than others ;) this is totally hypothetical but after someones wife went ape crazy on someones husband, he seems to be doing great with the goal haha! I was so surprised how much money we had by not eating out! It is just a TOTAL waste of money and TOTAL UNHEALTHY way to eat.
Well I am not doing anything that exciting. I am working 5 days a week, 8 hour days. I really enjoy the people we support. Recently one of the kids we support got adopted! I was so happy I could cry. I love success stories like this. It shows people can make a difference in other peoples lives. I am exploring the cooking world. Part of not eating out means I have to be a good house wife and cook, waaa???? I am trying all sorts of things! For about 3 months I have tried something new every time. And I have found many favorites! Tonight I am making this Lemon and Garlic Chicken in the crock pot. Crock pot recipes are amazing and totally perfect for winter time! I am lucky I can call my mother in law and Shelby my sister in law with "What the heck is this or how do you do this?" questions!
Okay so this is the most exciting news of all! I was called to be the Sunbeam teacher in Primary! How AWESOME is THAT?! I never had a chance to be in primary. I know about a hand full of songs from listening to my little siblings primary tapes. I have always had a feeling I would be spending a lot of time in primary to make up for "lost time" lol. We are also the Bulletin Board specialist which we need to be better at :) We also we asked to give a talk to church in 2 weeks! I haven't really had a lot of experience giving talks in sacrament meeting because every fast sunday or every other fast sunday I was up bearing my testimony. So they had already heard enough from me at that point! I don't know the topic yet but I am excited, you guys should come see us!
